✅ Description:
Flindof contains Doxophylline, a novel xanthine bronchodilator that:
- Relaxes bronchial smooth muscle by selectively inhibiting phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE4)
- Differs structurally from theophylline, with a dioxolane group, leading to reduced affinity for adenosine A1 and A2 receptors—resulting in a better safety profile
- Inhibits leukotriene production and platelet activating factor (PAF)

✔️ Common side effects may include:

400 mg tablet 2–3 times daily or as directed by a physician
Elderly:

6–12 years: 6–9 mg/kg body weight, twice daily
Example: A 10 kg child receives 3 ml (60 mg) twice daily
If 400 mg/day is required, a sustained-release (SR) tablet may be taken once daily
✔️ Interaction
- Do not use with other xanthine drugs
- Limit intake of caffeine-containing foods/drinks
- Use caution when taken with sympathomimetics like ephedrine
- Drug interactions that may increase plasma concentration:
- Erythromycin, TAO, clindamycin, allopurinol, cimetidine, propranolol, influenza vaccine
- Drugs like phenytoin or smoking may reduce effectiveness

- Acute myocardial infarction, hypotension
